Hello! I’m Paula Valiño. To my mother, I’ll always be Pauli, and to my father, Paulilla. The rest of my people stick with Pau, Paulita, or Paulis. You can call me however you prefer.
I am an actress.
I sing, dance, cook, write, compose, play paddle, ski, solve math problems, study psychology, play the guitar, play the piano, speak English and French, but in the end,
I’m just an actress.
I wanted to emphasize that because, as I never stop, I can sometimes be confusing.
But I’ve always been told that an actress should know how to do many things.
And I don’t want to fall short ;). I also can’t imagine a quiet life.
I was born in Valencia three days before the grand première of Javier Fesser’s “The Great Adventure of Mortadelo and Filemón“, the same year that Isabel Coixet presented “My Life Without Me“, Pablo Berger directed “Torremolinos 73“, and Luis Tosar shone in “Take My Eyes“. I was determined to be the main character of my own story, in the peaceful family environment of the Valiño Andreu.
I was born to be an actress.
Because, for me, being an actress isn’t a job. It’s the way I choose to live life.
And, of course, this decision affects everyone who lives with me.
Imagine. (An anecdote is coming).
Paula, 10 years ago… (Besides being an actress, I was quite bossy. A lot).
INT. GRANDPARENTS´ HOUSE – NIGHT.
It‘s Christmas Eve, and Paula’s entire family has gathered at her paternal grandparents’ house.
Paula‘s mother is applying makeup to her, while her grandmother has been curling her hair for over two hours. Simultaneously, her brother records her with his mobile phone, asking her questions that she’s prepared about the play that all her cousins are going to perform that night, compelled by her.
The younger cousins are rehearsing scenes and songs in front of her, while she provides guidance.
Meanwhile, her father and uncles are covering all the room walls with black fabric, which she made them buy for the show. (This explains the bossy part).
ALBERTO (brother)
How long have you all been rehearsing for the play?
PAULA
Come on Alberto, say it with a little more charm.
Try it again.
And well… you can imagine how the scene continues.
Hint: my brother does NOT hate me. In fact, we love each other very much.
In any case, I can’t summarize my love for art here, but I hope you’ve gotten an idea of the passion I feel for my profession.
I’m fascinated by bringing other characters to life, telling their stories, and creating. I never stop creating.
And I’m very aware of the sacrifice and effort required to do this, but I take it on with all my dedication.
I believe in hard work and in training.
That’s why I’ve been training for over a decade in some of the best acting schools in Spain, including Central de Cine, where I graduated in the “Diplomatura para cine y TV” and El Centro del Actor, in their regular course.
I feel that I have the tools to face any challenge you propose.
Alongside my studies, I have had experience in the profession since I was very young, both in theater, musical theater, and in audiovisual projects.
As I mentioned earlier, even though I’m from Valencia and currently reside in Madrid, I feel very comfortable performing in English (in various accents) and in French.
I’ve included my resume here for you to get an idea.
I want to dedicate a section of my website to my passion for music, through which I give free rein to the carousel of emotions inside me.
When I sing, I feel like I’m flowing, completely fulfilled, and above all, happy. Deep down, I feel that I have to continue communicating with myself and with you through music, through song.
That’s why, in addition to singing, I also write and compose.
DESENFRENO is the name of my first and only released song. You can listen to it on any platform.
I wanted to tell one of the thousands of stories I’ve experienced; Not only through singing but also through the music video, as if it were a short film of my own life. This way, I managed to combine my two passions.
